The beginning

The moment a child is born, the mother is also born.  She never existed before.  The woman existed, but the mother, never.  A mother is something absolutely new.  ~Rajneesh

I had the honor of recording, forever, my cousin's maternity for her and her husband. We did something a bit different and I like it. :) Can't wait to meet "baby Mullinax" and take newborn pics for them.

Ava

When the first baby laughed for the first time, the laugh broke into a thousand pieces and they all went skipping about, and that was the beginning of fairies. And now when every new baby is born its first laugh becomes a fairy. So there ought to be.

6 days old and precious. I am so lucky to have such beautiful clients who have beautiful children.

Melody Ann

My cousin gave birth to her beautiful daughter, Melody on June 3. There were some complications and she was then taken to Children's. She is doing great now, but how scary. Makes you realize how precious life is and how much we take for granted. She is a beautiful baby girl... and I can see the love that her mom and dad have for her. Here are some favorites from that session .

Mother and daughter

I had the absolute honor of photographing an old friend on Saturday. We graduated together and had not seen each other since then, I will not divulge how long that was, but trust me it was a long time ago. :) She is an identical twin, so after our session I was able to pick her brain a bit on the dynamics of having someone who looks JUST like you and that is around all.the.time. She is just as wonderful as she was in high school and her daughter is shaping up to be just like her mom, a beautiful spirit.

I had a session with Lily on Friday evening, she turned 1! She is such a cutie, so good and so photogenic. Her parents are amazing. I have the best clients ever. They are so loyal and that means so much to a photographer/artist. You really do "get" me and love my work.

Here are my favorites from Lily's session!

I had a very very small photo session with my son last night. It was short because it was all I could do to get him to cooperate. :{ BOYS! :D

On two of these I used a texture by the fabulous Jessica Drossin. They are so beautiful...

I had the absolute pleasure of photographing this darling girl in a field of flowers... the light was perfect, even if the air was humid and we were all sweaty after. It was so hard to choose only a few (as it always is) of my favorites, so here are a handful.

Some from my session with this adorable little girl.

Boys will be Boys

I have said before that I form bonds with my clients, much more than a snap and leave studio, we form friendships. I watch their children grow through my lens. I am so blessed to have this opportunity with so many of them. These little guys are no exception, I have photographed them since they were 3 months old and now they are two. Enjoy!

Beautiful People

Well in my eyes, all of my client's posts should be titled this title, but I felt like using it on this one today. All of my clients are beautiful and I love being able to capture that for them.

This little guy was full of energy, he wanted to explore the whole time.. which is understandable.. I want my clients to know that I am used to children not cooperating (LOL) I have three of my own, it is so not a big deal, that is why I shoot candid shots the majority of the time and if I get a good face shot with a smile out of a one or two year old.. bonus for me. :) Enjoy.

I had the absolute pleasure of photographing this family last fall, we had  a fun session and clicked "artistically" that is always so important, if the family or client doesn't get my style then you will not like your photos. Their son, at that time, was very ill, he had biliary atresia, and I do not know that much about it, but I do know that this Spring he became very ill and went on to the Liver Donor's list in hopes of finding a new liver. His mom contacted The Little Hero Project, www.littlestheroesproject.org, an charity organization of photographers that donate their time to families of sick children, the family receives a free photo session for their Little Hero. She asked for me to be their photographer.

Long story short, Jax received his new liver about a month ago (my timing could be wrong on that) he is doing fabulous and is a happy and healthy baby now. I went to their house this week to photograph him and his family. I am so blessed to know this family, their strength as a family is unwavering, the courage and endurance of Jax amazes me. He truly is an amazing child and a "Little Hero"Here is the link to his website http://www.baaware.org/index.html

Congratulations Seniors!

I have had the absolute honor of photographing some amazing seniors this year. As I've said before, I form bonds with my clients, friendships.. I cherish that.

Here's to you all. May you go out in to the world with your "guns blazing", take the opportunity to live... be kind...be courageous..fight for what you believe in....be compassionate....and LIVE!

"For what it's worth: it's never too late to be whoever you want to be. There's no time limit, stop whenever you want. You can change or stay the same, there are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or ...the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it. And I hope you see things that startle you. I hope you feel things you never felt before. I hope you meet people with a different point of view. I hope you live a life you're proud of. If you find that you're not, I hope you have the strength to start all over again."
